Prepare Your Business for Marketing in 2015

resolution

Here we are, at the beginning of a New Year (yay!) and like the weather, which will soon begin to change, marketing will do the same. It is an entity, a force of nature and, let’s be honest, sometimes a bit hectic, even for marketers like myself. What was successful for my clients and other businesses just last year may be obsolete now in 2015.

Big bosses like Google and Facebook seem to change every few months. It’s a fickle business and I know that keeping up can seem like a ever-changing task. But fear not, I’m here to help! It’s my utmost passion to keep you and your business as your own force of nature in the ever changing realm of marketing, and to make sure you continue to attract and appeal to your ideal clients during the New Year!

Popularity of Content Marketing:

Creating valuable content that your target audience will appreciate is very important. Content marketing is a form of marketing that will help create ways to appeal to your customers and what they value. Getting a sense of what interests your potential clients will make it easier to draw them in, otherwise you run the risk of being overlooked. Some brands crafted fantastic marketing plans in 2014, while some really missed the mark. As a consumer, you can appreciate quality and thought out marketing – correct? Effective content marketing will capture the attention of your target audience, providing them with the information they need, the answers they want and the awareness that they can appreciate. The aesthetics and intellect of this type of marketing must be a main focus. No consumer is going to be interested in watching a video, listening to a podcast or scrolling through a web page if they don’t have the sense that it’s speaking to them personally.

Be Mobile Ready:

According to Goldman Sachs, by 2015, 81% of U.S. cell users will have smartphones. What does this mean for your business? It means there’s a high chance that your target audience is viewing your business from their mobile devices. It’s extremely important to keep this in mind when it comes to marketing your business online. The accessibility and functionality of your webpage can and will determine whether potential customers continue to browse your business or choose to exit the page in frustration. The internet is undeniably a tremendous aspect of most people’s lives and cannot be overlooked in your marketing plan.

Future of SEO & Social Media :

The ease of simplicity is strong when using social media and Google searching in your every-day life. There’s nothing difficult about pulling up a company on Instagram or using your phone’s GPS to locate a store. When it comes to using these things for your own business, though – well, it’s a whole different monster. Strategically used, both platforms can be advantageous when utilized correctly. But you have to keep up with their fast paced changes! I think we can all agree that social media and search engines have changed since 2013. Which was just 2 years ago! Take Facebook, for example. It’s a free platform for users. Where do they get their money from? You got it – business advertisements! Some upcoming changes to ad settings on Facebook will allow users to change the type of content they see, which can be great for your business if users are interested in what you’re offering. Not so great if they just want the advertisement removed from their Newsfeed.

Meanwhile, Google’s algorithm has changed again. It appears that page rank and age is going to be losing importance, opening up a great path for any businesses that may be newer but offer great service! What’s becoming more important in the SEO game is the attractability of your businesses site content. Keeping things fresh, visually appealing and the information you provide in-depth will all affect the kind of traffic your pages get and the time users spend on your site is becoming more and more important.

Creation, Innovation, Motivation:

If you want the appreciation of your target audience you absolutely need to create genuine marketing! My “She Came…She Saw…She Conquered!” Virtual Vision Board was a random idea I had to bring together anyone online who was looking for the encouragement and motivation to pursue their dreams and the turnout was a total success. The innovation of the idea brought a diverse array of people together in real-time on Facebook. Your goal is to use authentic marketing techniques to motivate your ideal clients and effectively build their trust.

The changes are plentiful, but don’t feel overwhelmed. That’s why I’m here! Don’t go another month without having a profitable plan of action.
